Today, IRIAD recognise the remarkable strides women have made in the Nigerian judiciary and reaffirms the urgent need for greater inclusion and representation. Women’s participation in the justice system is not just about fairness—it is about ensuring diverse perspectives, equitable judgments, and a legal system that truly reflects the society it serves.
Despite the undeniable contributions of women in law, Nigeria’s judiciary remains largely male-dominated. This imbalance hinders the progress toward a more inclusive and just society. When women are adequately represented, they bring unique insights, particularly in cases affecting women and marginalized groups, ensuring that justice is both accessible and responsive to all.
As we mark this important day, we stand firm in our commitment to fostering equity and ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to serve, lead, and contribute to Nigeria’s judiciary and beyond.
