International Day for Universal Access to Information
Access to information is an essential part of democracy and governance as this enables citizens to participate fully in democratic governance and public life. It also helps combat corruption and enhance accountability.
We at IRIAD-The Electoral Hub join the global citizenship in celebrating the 2023 International Day for Universal Access to Information. This year’s theme “The Importance of the Online Space for Access to Information”, is particularly of importance as we have leverage online space to promote democratic ideals, public sensitization, and to disseminate information aimed at strengthening electoral accountability and integrity.
