Today, as Nigeria marks the National Day of Identity, IRIAD – The Electoral Hub joins stakeholders across Nigeria to highlight the importance of inclusive, accessible, and secure identity systems that ensure no one is left behind and every Nigerian is protected.
Your identity connects you to essential services and opportunities including: Healthcare, Education, Financial Services, Employment, Social Protection, and Government Services.
Identity also powers participation in public life. When people are recognised and included in public systems, they can access services, exercise their rights, participate in civic processes, and engage with the institutions that affect their lives.
From citizens to institutions, and from public services to digital platforms, identity is the key link in Nigeria’s Public Digital Ecosystem. An effective identity system should not only identify people, but also ensure people can access, participate, and be heard.
When you are counted, you are included.
When you are included, you can access.
When you can access, you can participate, exercise your rights, and have your voice heard.
